For 9-year-old Joaquin Valencia, life is about facing more challenges than your average kid. He was diagnosed with retinoblastoma at 11 1⁄2 months old and became completely blind at 6 months old.

Macy’s Shop for a Cause — Saturday, Aug. 23, 2014

Team Asa partnered with Macy's for their 9th Annual Shop for a Cause event on Saturday, Aug. 23, 2014. Thanks to all of our supporters, we sold 178 shopping passes, raising $890. Did we mention Team Asa sold one of the winning tickets? We did! Jim won a $500 Macy's shopping spree! Congrats Jim!

Our annual Polar Bear Plunge held each January at The Lakes of Tempe is our key fundraising event. Polar Bears earn their bragging rights by plunging into the cold community swimming pool. For those not crazy enough to jump, you can support the cause and stay dry as a Teddy Bear.
