2019 Team Asa Year in Review

Happy New Year, Bears!

As we get ready to brrrrave those freezing waters on Saturday, January 11 at our 9^th Annual Polar Bear Plunge fundraiser, we wanted to take a minute to look back on all the amazing things you helped us do this past year!

In March, Team Asa once again joined forces with the Suzy Foundation to put on the 6^th Annual Tempe Adapted Adventure Day! We saw many families return from previous years and met many new faces! This day is an opportunity for children with diferentabilities to play together in a variety of fun and engaging activities. We look forward to it every year and we’re already planning our event for this year – save the date for February 22, 2020!

In September, Team Asa hosted a movie night for the City of Tempe’s Adapted Recreation program. We had more than 100 individuals join us for a screening of the Peanut Butter Falcon at the Tempe Harkins Theater. It was such a fun night enjoying an incredible and moving movie.

We also celebrated the fourth anniversary of the dedication of our Green Room at The Centers for Habilitation. Team Asa continues to support the Centers for Habilitation by sponsoring field trips and special events for their clients.

As we do each year, Team Asa sponsored many athletes to participate in a variety of Special Olympics and Adapted Recreation activities through the City of Tempe’s Adapted Recreation Program. Our sponsored athletes participated in Buddy Bowling, swimming, soccer and more!

Once again, Team Asa also sponsored one of our favorite groups of individuals for the holidays! Each year our organization supports a group home in Tempe to provide a wonderful Christmas celebration. These group homes are available for adoption through The Centers for Habilitation and each year we enjoy getting to have a Christmas party with our friends! This year, we enjoyed a day of lunch, bowling and opening gifts!

With your support, Team Asa was able to provide the Arc of Tempe with a little Christmas spirit! Your donations helped the Arc of Tempe to gift each of their Christmas party attendees with a gift!
